In slightly more cheerful news, I finally saw a doctor about my swollen ankle that made walking so unpleasant. Turns out that you can actually sprain your ankle and not really notice, particularly if you're very clumsy and have learned to ignore bumps that don't cripple you immediately. I managed to quite badly steam two fingers on my right hand while using the microwave, and though I have spent most of the afternoon submerging them in icy water they are still lobster-red and swollen and really quite painful.
